This includes:

  • fleet coordination, regional travel arranging, incident/operational expenditure, regional office administrative support, procurement and contract management, regional budgets and financial administration.
  • coordination and reporting of all regional training programs.
  • ensuring compliance with State and National training regulatory requirements for staff, volunteers and selected community groups.
  • supporting all regional staff across all DFES hazards in their delivery of training.

The role may also require assistance in regional operations and incident management duties outside of normal business hours.

Prerequisites

  • Possession of a Western Australian Driver’s Licence (C Class minimum) which must remain valid for the duration of employment.
Employment Conditions and Additional Information

You must be an Australian Citizen or hold permanent residency.

A current National Police Certificate (less than 3 months old) is required prior to commencement.

The Fire and Emergency Services (Superannuation Fund) Regulations 1986 prevent DFES from offering choice of super for permanent appointments. Those appointed permanently may remain with their existing GESB Superannuation account or join the Fire and Emergency Services Superannuation Fund. Fixed term employees may choose super, but if converted to permanent must choose one of the two options listed above.

Benefits of Working With DFES

  • Long service leave after 7 years.
  • Paid parental leave and other attractive leave options.
  • Salary packaging options.
  • Professional career development opportunities.
DFES Supports Diversity and Inclusion

DFES supports inclusion and diversity and advocates the value of inclusiveness where all DFES personnel are encouraged to contribute fully and are recognised and valued for their differences in an environment that is free from discrimination and the negative effects of bias, both conscious and unconscious.

People from culturally diverse backgrounds, Aboriginal Australians and people with a disability are encouraged to apply. DFES may prioritise recruitment decisions based on the Equal Opportunity Act 1984 (WA).
