Within NX, the International Safeguards Project Office (ISPO) is the technical and administrative manager of the United States Support Program (USSP), which provides technical assistance to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Department of Safeguards.

The USSP responds to requests from the IAEA for assistance in specific technical areas. The Subgroup on Safeguards Technical Support (SSTS), an interagency, U.S. government committee, provides oversight of the USSP and guides ISPO’s work.
