Summary

The Head Of Public Affairs will lead the development and execution of Ralph Lauren’s public affairs strategy, providing policy intelligence, advocacy, and government relations support across key markets. This role will advise senior leadership, craft policy communications, and anticipate regulatory and geopolitical risks that could impact the business. The position is based in New York and reports to the Chief Global Impact and Communications Officer.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement advocacy strategies that protect and advance company priorities.
  • Present policy positions to government officials, trade associations, coalitions, and industry stakeholders.
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory developments and assess business impacts.
  • Produce policy documents, executive summaries, position papers, and advocacy briefs.
  • Arrange and prepare high-impact meetings and briefings for senior leadership and external stakeholders.
  • Cultivate relationships with government officials and maintain partnerships with trade and advocacy organizations.
  • Advise on strategic risk and issues management related to regulatory and geopolitical changes.
  • Lead and develop the public affairs team, manage external consultants, and oversee the function budget.
Requirements
  • 15+ years of public affairs experience in an agency, brand, or political environment preferred.
  • Deep understanding of public policy with the ability to distill complex regulatory issues into clear insights.
  • Experience in fashion or retail, global supply chains, trade, sustainability, or geopolitical issues preferred.
  • Exceptional writing, presentation, and interpersonal skills with experience briefing senior leadership and boards.
  • Proven ability to persuade stakeholders, navigate complex policy challenges, and drive outcomes.
  • Demonstrated success leading teams and managing projects from strategy through execution.
