About This RoleThe Senior Associate will support and execute client engagements across Civitas’ portfolio, collaborating closely with internal teams and clients. The role provides direct exposure to policy strategy development and work with leading political, policy, and thought leaders.
Accountabilities and Qualifications- Manage client engagement, produce content, and meet deliverables.
- Provide expert internal and external project management across work streams.
- Conduct research and maintain a strong understanding of legislation and policy.
- Produce high‑quality written products, including white papers, policy briefs, and presentations that are client‑ready.
- Provide project, event, and meeting support along with other duties as assigned.
- Minimum of 5–7 years of experience with a track record of successful public affairs, policy, or electoral campaigns.
- Demonstrated experience in project and client management.
- Excellent written and oral communication, advocacy, and analytic skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, adapt to shifting priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Self‑starter with initiative and time‑management skills.
- Strong computer, web, and technology skills (Microsoft Office, Google Suite).
- Willingness to serve as a team player with high impact and low ego.
- Creative, out‑of‑the‑box thinker with excellent judgement, curiosity, and a sense of humor (plus).
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in public policy or related field is a plus.
- Willingness to travel as needed for meetings and convenings.
The salary range for this position is $90,000‑$150,000 per year, commensurate with experience. This hybrid position requires three days per week in the New York City/ Washington DC / Boston office. Civitas offers a bonus through an annual review process and benefits that include health, vision, and dental coverage; paid parental leave; vacation, holidays, and wellness days; 401(k) with employer contribution.
