Major Responsibilities- Under the direction of the Director of Citywide Special Events, assist with the coordination of special events held in New York City parks.
- Represent the division at Agency meetings and serve as a liaison with other Parks divisions.
- Serve as a liaison with various City agencies representing the Agency’s interests in citywide discussions.
- Assist with the management of special events staff.
- Review incoming applications and manage assignments and staff schedule.
- Ensure the compliance and enforcement of all Parks and City policies and procedures for events.
- Review permits, schedules and operations of events and coordinate resources needed to ensure events are managed properly.
- Interface with special event directors and operations staff in each borough to ensure review and successful execution of permitted events.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with the public and staff. Ensure that all requests or concerns are resolved.
- Manage the production of large-scale parks produced citywide events, including vendor negotiation, operation oversight, staff management and all related responsibilities.
- Assist the Director in ensuring compliance citywide with Agency policy and procedure.
Work Location:
Arsenal, Manhattan
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Excellent writing, communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and initiate projects.
- Proficiency in computer software including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Access.
- Availability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
- Valid New York State driver license.

Residency RequirementResidency in New York City, Nassau, Orange, Rockland, Suffolk, Putnam or Westchester counties required for employees with over two years of city service. New York City residency required within 90 days of hire for all other candidates.
