Location: New York
The Public Participation Specialist 2 manages targeted public outreach projects and communications for the New York Department of Environmental Conservation's Region 2 programs. The role includes developing professional presentations, facilitating public and stakeholder meetings, coordinating public involvement initiatives, and supervising Public Participation Specialist 1 staff. This is a full‑time position based in Long Island City, Queens, with up to 50% telecommuting available.
Keyqualifications:
- Seven years of experience in natural resources management, environmental planning, environmental regulation, or public information/outreach
- Experience developing and delivering professional presentations to technical or lay audiences
- Experience moderating, coordinating, or leading public or stakeholder group meetings
- Valid driver's license required
- Ability to attend public meetings and events on weekends and evenings as needed
