The Office of the New York State Comptroller seeks Auditors at three levels (Trainee 1, Trainee 2, and Auditor
1) to conduct municipal audits in accordance with Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards. Auditors conduct interviews, develop audit scope and tests, analyze findings, prepare audit reports, and provide technical assistance to local officials. The position is based in Hauppauge, NY, with a 100% travel requirement depending on annual work plans.
- Bachelor's degree with 24 undergraduate or graduate credit hours in accounting and/or auditing
- One to two years of professional accounting or auditing experience (depending on appointment level)
- Strong analytical and written/verbal communication skills
- Knowledge and use of technology
- Good organizational skills and team collaboration ability
