Summary
You will serve as a Supervisory Park Ranger (Emergency Services) with National Park Service. This position is in the Division of Safety and Emergency Services at the Statue of Liberty National Monument and Ellis Island. Open to the first 100 applicants or until 09/17/2026 whichever comes first. All applications submitted by 11:59 (EST) on the closing day will receive consideration.
Major DutiesAs a Supervisory Park Ranger (Emergency Services), you will perform the following duties:
Performs a full range of administrative supervisory duties Including hiring, counseling, evaluating, and disciplining employees. Manages the short-term and long-term planning related to emergency response and safety training of subordinate personnel, park employees, and park partners. Oversees daily park operations in conjunction with supervisors from other divisions in the park. Prepares new or revised guidelines and operating procedures that deal with matters such as emergency services activities, EMS, wildland and structural fire control, rescue, and emergency management.
Manages and participates in all capacities of all-hazards emergency incidents. Organizes and schedules all-hazards emergency services training. Oversees, develops, and instructs emergency services and related outreach training. Manages rescue (high-angle, confined space, water, USAR) incidents within the park boundaries and surrounding jurisdictions.
