Facility Operations Specialist

Summary

You will serve as a Facility Operations Specialist with National Park Service.

As a Facility Operations Specialist, you will perform the following duties:
Provides program support to management on construction projects and project planning. Coordinates maintenance project activities. Provides technical input to acquisition planning. Performs market research and analysis to determine availability of the requirements. Monitors contractor performance. Plans and carries out procurement packages. Creates contracting packages. Maintains cost records.

You must obtain and maintain Contracting Officer Representative Level 1 (COR) certification within one-year of entrance on duty.

You are required to wear a uniform and comply with uniform standards. A uniform allowance will be provided. You may be required to complete training, obtain and maintain a government credit card with travel and purchase authority. You may be required to work overtime and shift work. As a condition of employment for accepting this position, you may be required to serve a one-year probationary period to evaluate your fitness and whether your continuation of employment advances the public interest.

This probationary period is an extension of the appointment process and therefore requires the agency to determine if continued employment would advance the public interest, meet the organization goals and mission of the agency, and/or otherwise promote the efficiency of the service. In determining if your employment advances the public interest, the agency will consider: your performance and conduct; the needs and interests of the agency;

In the absence of agency action to affirmatively certify continued employment beyond the probationary or trial period, such appointments are terminated.
