The Investigative Specialist 2 Medicaid works for the NYS Office of the Medicaid Inspector General to investigate Medicaid fraud, waste, and abuse by providers. The role supervises investigative staff in regional offices, evaluates complaints, conducts complex investigations, and seeks recoupment of over payments and sanctions. The position is based in either White Plains or Hauppauge and reports to an Investigative Specialist 4 in New York City.
Keyqualifications
- One year of permanent service as an Investigative Specialist 1 OR seven years of experience conducting field investigations
- Experience must include conducting interviews, taking statements, collecting evidence, preparing reports, and testifying at hearings
- One year of supervisory-level experience required
- Valid driver's license or ability to meet transportation requirements
- Associate degree in criminal justice may substitute for two years of experience; bachelor's degree may substitute for four years
