Beauty​/Hair Styling Assistant, Hair Stylist

I am an experienced hairstylist seeking a dedicated assistant to join me at the salon I call home in Manhattan's East Village. This role involves working Tuesdays, Thursdays, and every other Wednesday, with shifts typically lasting 10–12 hours. Key responsibilities include shampooing, applying glosses, and providing blowouts and styling. The ideal candidate should have some prior salon experience. Looking for a personable, positive individual who has great customer service and people skills.

Someone who takes instruction and feedback well, and who has a desire to learn and grow in the industry. With nearly 20 years of experience and a background as head of education, I am passionate about teaching and have successfully trained over 10 assistants. This is an excellent opportunity for professional development.

• Prior salon experience.
• Ability to shampoo, apply glosses, and provide blowouts and styling.
• Must hold a valid NY State cosmetology license.
• Must have good people and conversation skills.

Schedule: Tuesday, Thursday, every other Wednesday 9:30 am‑8:30 pm

Salary: $17 – $20 hourly
