Overview:
The Lead Spa Therapist is an experienced service professional who delivers exceptional treatments while serving as a leader and resource for the therapy team. In addition to maintaining a high standard of treatment and guest care, the Lead Therapist supports team development, service consistency, and the overall operation of the spa.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional treatments and services in accordance with spa standards.
- Provide a consistently elevated and personalized guest experience.
- Maintain strong knowledge of all treatments, products, protocols, and services offered by the spa.
- Serve as a resource and mentor to therapists, sharing knowledge and best practices.
- Support the Spa Manager in maintaining consistent treatment standards across the team.
- Assist with onboarding and training new therapists.
- Provide guidance and support to therapists regarding treatment protocols and guest needs.
- Identify opportunities to improve treatment quality, service delivery, and the overall guest experience.
- Maintain accurate client records and follow all required treatment and safety protocols.
- Communicate effectively with the reception and management teams regarding client needs and scheduling.
- Support inventory management and proper use of treatment products and supplies.
- Assist with operational responsibilities and special projects as needed.
Client Experience
- Build strong, trusting relationships with clients.
- Deliver personalized treatments based on individual client needs and preferences.
- Educate clients on appropriate treatments and at-home care when appropriate.
- Respond professionally and thoughtfully to client feedback or concerns.
- Represent the spa with a high level of professionalism and discretion.
Team & Operations
- Lead by example in treatment quality, professionalism, punctuality, and guest service.
- Support a collaborative and positive team culture.
- Help ensure treatment rooms and work areas consistently meet spa standards.
- Provide constructive peer support and contribute to ongoing team development.
- Partner with management to identify operational or service improvements.
Qualifications & Experience
- Relevant professional certification/licensure required for services performed.
- 3+ years of experience as a therapist in a spa, wellness, hospitality, or luxury environment.
- Previous leadership, mentoring, or training experience preferred.
- Strong technical knowledge and commitment to treatment excellence.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Warm, professional, and client-focused approach.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safety.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends as required.
