Job Description
Rogue House Salon is looking for an experienced, motivated Hair Assistant to join our team.

We are specifically looking for someone who already understands salon life — someone who can move quickly, multitask, anticipate what a stylist needs, and help keep a busy Saturday running smoothly.

This is not an entry-level position.

You should already be comfortable working with clients and have experience with:

• Professional shampooing and conditioning
• Blowouts / blow-dries on different hair types and textures
• Applying toners and glosses
• Assisting with color services
• Preparing and resetting stations
• Keeping the salon organized, stocked and service-ready
• Supporting multiple stylists during a busy day
• Providing excellent client service

You may be a great fit if you are:

A seasoned salon assistant who wants a great salon to work with part-time,

OR

An emerging hairstylist who already has strong assisting skills and wants to continue developing their craft.

We want someone who is hardworking, proactive and reliable. You notice what needs to be done without constantly being asked.

Someone with strong organizational skills is a major plus. If you're naturally the person who keeps track of inventory, notices when supplies are running low, keeps things where they belong, and helps a team stay organized —
we would love to meet you.

Saturday availability is required. Additional shifts may be available on Fridays and occasionally other days depending on salon needs and availability.

Rogue House Salon is an independent East Village salon with a creative, fashion-forward point of view. We've built a diverse community of artists and clients and want our team to reflect New York City itself — different backgrounds, personalities, styles, textures and perspectives.

Our work extends beyond the salon into fashion, editorial and runway. Rogue House has been featured by The Today Show, Forbes, Business Insider and The Cut
, and our artists have worked across NYFW and other fashion productions.

You'll work alongside experienced hairstylists in a salon where education and artistic development are encouraged. For assistants interested in continuing to develop as hairstylists, there may be opportunities for education, training and professional development based on skill, performance, business needs and readiness.

We do not promise a specific timeline for moving onto the floor.

• Previous salon assisting experience strongly preferred
• Strong blow-dry skills
• Strong shampoo skills
