Hair Stylist

Verdine is a newly established concept salon in Williamsburg, seeking artists of all levels of experience and specialties. At Verdine, we value creativity and drive above all else.

We're an independent, creative salon looking for people who care deeply about their craft, their clients, and the environment they work in. We want stylists who are professional without being corporate, ambitious without being competitive with their team, and excited to build something long-term.

We are currently hiring at two levels:

Ideal for a newer stylist who has a strong foundation and is ready to develop their skills, clientele, and confidence behind the chair.

We're looking for someone who:

• Holds a current New York cosmetology license
• Has strong foundational cutting, styling, and/or color skills
• Is eager to continue learning and refining their technique
• Is dependable, professional, warm, and client-focused
• Wants mentorship and room to grow
• Is comfortable creating content and building their personal clientele
• Contributes positively to a collaborative salon environment

Junior stylists will have the opportunity to grow within Verdine, expand their service offerings, build a book, and develop toward senior stylist status.

Ideal for an experienced stylist with a developed skill set and an existing or growing clientele who wants a beautiful, independent environment to work and grow in.

We're looking for someone who:

• Holds a current New York cosmetology license
• Has significant professional salon experience
• Demonstrates advanced cutting, color, blonding, extensions, and/or specialty skills
• Provides an elevated and consistent client experience
• Maintains strong client relationships and professional standards
• Is self-motivated and comfortable building and retaining a clientele
• Values independence while still being part of a supportive salon community

An established book is a plus, but we're also interested in talented stylists who are actively building.

• Assist senior stylists with various hair styling services, including cuts, color treatments, blowouts, and styling.
• Perform basic hair care tasks such as shampooing, conditioning, and scalp treatments.
• Engage with clients to understand their preferences and provide personalized recommendations.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the salon workspace to ensure a safe and inviting environment.
• Stay updated on current hair trends and techniques through ongoing education and training opportunities.
• Build strong relationships with clients by delivering friendly, professional service that encourages repeat visits.
• Support the team in maintaining the salon's environmentally conscious practices and standards.
• Contribute positively to the salon culture by being professional, ambitious, and team-oriented.

• Passion for hair styling and a genuine interest in developing your craft.
• Prior experience or training in hair styling is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is essential.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to listen carefully to client needs.
• Professional attitude with a commitment to providing excellent customer service.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a creative team environment.
• Eagerness to grow professionally in a supportive setting that values long-term development.
• Knowledge of current hair trends and techniques is a plus but not mandatory.
