Under the direction of radiologist, performs Special Procedure as well as other mammography examinations at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail. Maintain all necessary records, etc., logging patient data in logbook. Performs tasks related to MQSA.
Responsibilities- Review tech pair review of images.
- In conjunction with clerical schedulers and technologist. Maintains a constant workflow with the technologist.
- Assist physician during biopsy procedures as needed.
- Maintain supplies pertaining to Mammography.
- Performs a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgment, with ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for imaging diagnosis and image guided treatment.
- Assumes responsibility for designated areas or procedures as required.
- Obtain mammographic analog/digital images as well as other images:
This task includes the proper setting of exposure factors and imaging equipment to obtain high-quality images for diagnosis by the radiologist. - Train other associates and students in special procedures.
The shift for this position varies:
8:00-4:30pm, including Saturdays
8:30-5pm, including Saturdays
Requirements- Satisfactory completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program and meets the requirements for certification by the ARRT; specific to Mammography.
- Licensed by the State of New York; required.
- Associate Degree required, Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- 2 years' experience preferred.
