Pulmonary Function Technician Westchester Medical Group

Pulmonary Function Technician - Days - Westchester Medical Group at New York-Presbyterian Hospital. NYPMG are part of the physician enterprise of New York-Presbyterian, affiliated with two world-renowned medical schools. Through primary care and multispecialty medical practices, the physicians and other health care professionals of NYPMG, in collaboration with Columbia Doctors and Weill Cornell Physicians, provide families with high quality, patient-centered care close to home in the New York metropolitan area.

Performs pulmonary function testing and other respiratory-related care and treatment as prescribed by a New York licensed physician in accordance with established policies and procedures.

• Administers pulmonary function testing, including spirometry, flow volume loops with and without bronchodilator, DLCO, MVV, Maximum Pressure, Body Plethysmography, and Broncho Provocation studies (Methacholine).
• Administers six minute walk test, oximetry, oxygen therapy, Metered-Dose Inhalers and Nebulizer treatment.
• Educates patients regarding pulmonary medications and use of oxygen.
• Maintains pulmonary function equipment and associated supplies, including cleaning and disinfection per policy.
• Completes reports for pulmonary function tests and distributes to ordering physicians.
• May schedule appointments when necessary.
• Performs other job duties as assigned.

The hours for this position are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Coverage of the Bronx location may be required.

• Associate’s Degree.
• At least one year of pulmonary function testing experience.
• Registered/Certified Pulmonary Technologist by the National Board of Respiratory Care (RPFT/CPFT).
• New York State Respiratory Therapist or Respiratory Technician License.

• Registered Respiratory Therapist or Certified Respiratory Therapist through NBRC.

Salary Range: $48.42–$62.50 per hour.
