Recreational Aide

Overview

Park Nursing Home is seeking Recreational Aides to assist with the planning of recreational activities, following the supervision of a Recreational Director.
Recreation
aides prepare all the resources, guide the participants, maintain the activity equipment, facilitate the program, and reiterate the guidelines for the safe execution of the activity.

• Assist in implement activities and programs for residents
• Work with the residents on the units
• Organize and obtain supplies and equipment as requested
• Assist recreation specialists & set up the program areas as needed
• Keep daily attendance and document residents’ participation in activities
• Assist residents to program location and return residents to appropriate units
• Collaborate with the Recreation Director to create/modify the recreation calendar and coordinate with outside parties to implement recreational activities
• Be familiar with established emergency procedures
• Other duties as assigned

• Experience with activities in healthcare settings or college work in recreation therapy preferred
• Previous experience with Geriatric population preferred
• Proficient computer skills necessary
• Ability to work effectively as a team member
• Strong organizational & planning skills; ability to multitask

• 8 hour shift

• High school or equivalent (Preferred)
