OverviewHome Based Crisis Intervention (HBCI) is a short‑term, intensive service to avert unnecessary psychiatric hospitalizations of children and youth ages 5 to 20 years. This goal is accomplished via clinical interventions with the child/youth and their family, and case management services such as referrals to longer‑term services.
Position OverviewThe HBCI Administrative Supervisor directs and supervises staff activities, leads team organizational and clinical meetings, provides clinical direction to staff regarding individual cases, and regularly conducts individual supervision meetings. The Supervisor may provide case coverage for short periods due to staffing needs such as Interventionist time off. LMHPs are expected to be licensed by the New York State Education Department and operate within the practitioner’s scope of practice as defined in NYS law.
These include, but are not limited to:
Licensed Psychologists, Licensed Clinical/ Master’s Social Workers, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists, Licensed Mental Health Counselors, or Licensed Creative Arts Therapists.
- Provides clinical oversight and consultation on all HBCI cases.
- Reviews documentation to ensure that documentation meets standards.
- Oversees and ensures the quality of services provided and the implementation of evidence‑based models of service delivery.
- Collaborates and partners with schools and other community providers.
- Evaluates supervises and ensures timeliness of all documentation.
- Completes job performance evaluations and provides professional development support on a regular basis.
- May supervise student interns.
- Understands my Avatar and other electronic or survey formats used by the program.
- Completes all reporting documentation as required by DOHMH, OMH and JBFCS.
- Other administrative duties as needed.
- Licensure (LMSW, LCSW, LMHC, LMFT, LCAT) in a Behavioral Health or related field.
- A minimum of three years of related experience.
- Clinical knowledge of mental illness, serious emotional disturbance and substance use disorders.
Must be able to read paper and electronic documents and perform significant data entry into various computer programs.
Work Environment / Physical EffortInfrequent travel throughout the assigned boroughs (Staten Island) and NYC.
