We were founded in 1989 by Dr. Jin-Ho Lim, a world leader in natural IVF and In Vitro Maturation and has been responsible for the birth of over 70,000 IVF babies as of 2014, with 10 state of the art facilities throughout Korea, Maria Fertility sees anywhere from  patients per day and is responsible for over 20,000 egg retrievals per year.

What is the Embryologist Role?

Embryologists study the development of human or animal embryo cells. Their intricate testing research and valuable insight is used to improve lives, make medical discoveries, and treat infertility and reproductive issues. You will work with physicians to assist their patients with reproductive health issues and clinical research. This medical position is ideal for research-minded people with laser-like focus, attention to detail, and the ability to produce accurate work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

While an embryologist’s day-to-day duties and responsibilities are determined by where they work, there are many core tasks associated with the role. Based on our analysis of job listings, these include:

  • Media preparation of reagents, inventory of lab supplies, and cleaning of incubators/lab.
  • Preparation of media for ART procedure
  • Collecting sperm and preparation for IUI and IVF
  • Collecting and preparing of oocytes for insemination
  • Analyzing and preparing of specimens for insemination for ICSI
  • Assessing fertilization and zygote quality following insemination
  • Daily assessment/grading and handling of embryos through Day6 of in vitro culture
  • Preparing embryos for intrauterine transfer
  • Performing embryo biopsy at day3 and trophectoderm
  • Experiences for oocyte and embryo vitrification
  • Monitor and maintains cryo tank and equipment alarm system as well as frozen inventory of all patient
  • Adhere to laboratory procedures; collects data and document quality control (QC) and quality assessment (QA) activities and complies with, ethical issues and regulations surrounding gamete and embryo handling
  • Weekend and holiday rotation with the other embryologist is required.
  • Flexibility to work overtime as necessary.
  • Assist CLIA/Tissue Bank/FDA/OSHA/CAP Inspection.

  • Cryopreservation/thawing

Embryology candidates will be responsible for demonstrating sufficient competency in basic embryology and andrology procedure needed for In Vitro Fertilization.

  • Responsibilities include the following;
  • Semen Analysis and Sperm Cryopreservation (Andrology Lab)
  • Collecting and preparing of oocytes for insemination:
  • Analyzing and preparing of specimens for insemination or for ICSI
  • Assessing fertilization and zygotes quality following insemination
  • Daily assessment/grading and handling of embryos through Day6 of in vitro culture
  • Cryopreservation and thawing of embryos at varying stages of development
  • Preparing embryos for intrauterine transfer
  • Ability to contribute valuable ideas to the laboratory and physician team in reference to the status and appropriateness of clinical specimens
Qualifications

The right candidate will have strong communication skills, be able to multi task, work independently and as part of a team and bring a positive attitude to the workplace environment.

Embryologists should have a passion for laboratory techniques as well as strong interpersonal skills, a minimum of 2 year’s experience in a clinical laboratory setting performing basic and advanced embryology techniques with experience in in-vitro fertilization plus computer proficiency.

Excellent communication skills are essential.
