Position SummaryWe have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Medical Scribe (40).
Job Responsibilities- Scribe in real time in the exam room to provide enhanced interaction between patient and physician.
- Transcribe all medical notes onsite, adhering to legal requirements for medical report style and confidentiality.
- Translate medical terminology and jargon into formal content for incorporation into the patient s electronic medical file.
- Maintain high productivity and accuracy in documentation.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Associate degree or equivalent in education/experience.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, clinical medicine, surgery, diagnostics, radiology, pathology, pharmacology, and related specialties.
- Knowledge of medical transcription guidelines and practices.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English, including grammar and style.
- Ability to understand diverse accents and dictation styles; proficiency with reference materials and transcription equipment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and to perform under time constraints.
- Certified medical transcriptionist (CMT) status preferred.
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

Pay transparency: NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with applicable laws. The salary range for this role is $32,516.64 - $43,000.00 annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range listed does not include bonuses, differential pay, or other forms of compensation.
