Position: Ultrasound Technologist (Level II), Permanent, Day Schedule
Location: New York

Flex Staff is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist to work for one of our clients, the largest city health system for their location in Manhattan, NY.

This is a permanent, full-time job.

Work Shift

8:00 A.M - 4:00 P.M

Saturday availability required.

In this role you would be responsible for all types of General Ultrasound, OB/GYN, Breast, and Small Part ultrasound examinations and assisting in the daily operations within the division of ultrasound (patient scheduling, patient transportation and routine maintenance of equipment).

Requirements
  • Completion of a Sonography or Ultrasound training program from an accredited school.
  • Must be a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS)
  • Valid certification in Sonography issued by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS), the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI); and
  • One (1) year of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist or Sonographer.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to
  • Identify the patient and explain the procedure to alleviate any anxiety and ensure their cooperation throughout the process. Conduct ultrasound examinations according to established protocols.
  • Prepare the examination area, ultrasound equipment, supplies, and the patient.
  • Gather relevant information to perform ultrasound examinations, ensuring all exams are properly accessioned, documented, and images are sent to PACS.
  • Monitor PACS incomplete worklists to confirm that all exams are completed.
  • Be attentive and responsive to patient needs while conducting all examinations.
  • Maintain regular communication with radiologists, providing verbal and/or documented preliminary reports for their review.
  • Coordinate the scheduling of exams and the communication of results as appropriate.
  • Uphold a professional demeanor when interacting with patients, physicians, staff, and the public.
  • Adhere to all policies related to safety guidelines and the proper care of imaging equipment, reporting any malfunctions to supervisory staff and documenting service requests.
  • Ensure a clean and safe work environment for both patients and staff, and report any unexpected incidents following occurrence report protocols.
  • Promote patient safety by taking all necessary precautions to create a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
