** The base pay scale for this position is $48,500.00 - $74,375.00. In addition, this position will be eligible for additional benefits consistent with the role. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be determined based on various factors, including but not limited to: scope of role, level of experience, education, accomplishments, internal equity, budget, and subject to Fair Market Value evaluation.

** What you will be doing
**** JOB DESCRIPTION
** The clinical research assistant will assist on various investigator initiated studies with Dr. William Long.  Studies will include outcomes from smart implants for total hip and knee  replacements.  This is a one year commitment.

Responsibilities may include:
* Screening and maintaining screening logs for low-risk interventional or interaction  prospective studies
* Obtaining informed consent from study participants
* Maintain compliance with Institutional Review Board (IRB) guidelines, including submitting CRP and IRB initial applications, amendments, and continuing reviews
* Interact with clinical staff, academic collaborators, and industry collaborators
* Perform data entry and quality control
* Working with biostats department to analyze clinical data, including data from the Persona IQ patient database
* Assisting PI with drafting abstracts, posters, and manuscripts for publication and conference submissions
* Assisting in the development of new study protocols and grant applications

*** Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point
* Experience drafting peer-reviewed abstracts and publications in orthopaedics
* Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
* Strong writing ability and interest in clinical research

The successful applicant for the position will be a motivated and organized individual who is able to perform a variety of different tasks essential to maintain the registry.  He or she will be proactive and approachable, as well as flexible, as the job description may evolve as studies progress.  The individual will have access to the medical records of patients and should appreciate this privilege while maintaining strict confidentiality with all patient medical data.  

He or she will also have strong communication skills, as this role involves interfacing directly with patients and other essential research staff.
Is responsible for communicating in an effective manner with management, clinical staff, and patients  be asked to conduct procedures in the operating room including, but not limited to sample collection.

** PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS
** Continuously stand/walk or lift/handle/carry material or equipment of moderate weight Continuously stand/walk or lift/handle/carry material or equipment of moderate weight (20 to 50 lbs). Examples:
Nurses, LPNs, and Physical Therapists.

** ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS
** Indoor area with frequent exposure Located in an indoor area with frequent exposure to mild physical discomfort from dust, fumes, temperature, and noise. Examples: patient care providers and laboratory technicians.

** HAZARDS OSHA
** Category 1 Tasks that involve exposure to blood, body fluids, tissues, and other potentially infectious materials.
** EDUCATION REQUIRED
** Bachelors     
** SKILLS PREFERRED
** Knowledge of Orthopedic and/or Rheumatologic terminology is a plus.
