Position Summary
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a per diem Pharmacist - Inpatient Pharmacy. In this role, the successful candidate is responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations, licensing requirements, and professional standards pertaining to storage, inventory control, dispensing, distribution of medication, medication consultation, and vaccination of approved medications as permitted by the New York State Board of Pharmacy.
Job Responsibilities- Demonstrates knowledge of the organization's Core Values and incorporates them into the performance of duties.
- Responsible for medication dispensation according to NYULMC policies and NYS Pharmacy Laws.
- Maintains pharmacy records according to NYULMC policies and NYS Pharmacy Laws.
- Provides drug information and consultation to patients and healthcare providers according to NYULMC policies and NYS Pharmacy Laws.
- Maintains a current understanding of and application of onsite pharmacy technology.
- Provides vaccinations to patients according to NYULMC policies and NYS Pharmacy Laws.
- Provides direct oversight of pharmacy technicians maintaining NYULMC standards of quality.
- Assists management with Waste Fraud and Abuse according to NYULMC policies and Federal Law.
- Participates in monthly inventory through Veriform assignment.
- Participates in projects and activities to maintain professional competence (seminars, journals, 15 hours of continuing education credit per year required by NYS).
- Maintains a professional attitude when answering telephones, addressing patients, and providing drug information.
- Documents clinical interventions.
- Completes annual competency assessments.
- Provides guidance to pharmacy students when required.
- Performs other miscellaneous related duties as required.
To qualify you must have a Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy, a New York State Pharmacy License, and effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Required LicensesPharmacist License - NYS
Preferred QualificationsFive years of experience in a busy retail pharmacy, having provided immunization to greater than 200 patients. PGY‑1 Ambulatory.
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

Salary TransparencyNYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York State Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for this role is $80.00 - $80.00 hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range does not include bonuses, incentive, differential pay, or other forms of compensation or benefits.
