Spravato / Esketamine PMHNP ABOUT US

At Being Health, we're redefining mental healthcare for modern life. Being Health is a psychiatrist-led practice reimagining mental healthcare through an innovative, integrated model. We bring together psychiatry, interventional treatments for depression (such as SPRAVATO®), psychotherapy, integrative health and advanced diagnostics, acupuncture and nutrition to support whole-person healing.

Located in New York City, we offer both virtual and in-person services and are in network with major commercial payors with plans to expand to new locations. Our interdisciplinary team delivers compassionate, evidence-based care that is personalized, collaborative, and forward-thinking. Currently in network with some of the major commercial payors, we’re building a new standard for modern mental health—designed to help people feel better and function better, mind and body.

ABOUT

THE ROLE

We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our psychiatry team. This role is perfect for someone passionate about the integration of novel treatments and a mind‑body approach to mental health.

You will be an integral part of our multidisciplinary team, which includes psychiatrists, psychotherapists, wellness experts, and functional medicine practitioners. As a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, you will have the opportunity to provide cutting‑edge care to patients dealing with mood disorders, trauma, and treatment‑resistant depression.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide High Quality Direct Patient Care: Perform interventional consultations and psychiatric assessments, develop treatment plans, order labs and manage care for patients with anxiety, depression, mood disorders, and trauma and stressor‑related disorders. Deliver both in‑person and virtual care, with a focus on treatment‑resistant depression and mood disorders.
  • Interventional Psychiatry: Provide expert treatment using state‑of‑the‑art interventional psychiatry options, such as SPRAVATO® (esketamine), and TMS (coming soon). You’ll be at the forefront of novel, evidence‑based treatments for patients who haven’t responded to traditional approaches.
  • Integrated Care: Work closely with a team of psychiatrists, psychotherapists, wellness practitioners, and functional medicine providers to ensure mind‑body care and the best possible outcomes for patients.
  • Personalized Care Plans: Develop, implement, and manage individualized care plans, including pharmacological and non‑pharmacological interventions. Facilitate referrals both within and outside of Being Health as appropriate and maintain proactive communication with patients and external providers.
  • Documentation & Compliance: Maintain accurate and timely progress notes in the electronic health record (EHR). Adhere to established protocols and procedures to ensure quality care and regulatory compliance. Meet all FDA and DEA requirements for controlled substance storage, administration, and reporting.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Clinical Excellence is our top priority! You should be self‑motivated, proactive, and solution‑oriented, with a deep commitment to patient care.
  • Current New York State Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) certification through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or an equivalent board‑approved certification.
  • Active, unrestricted Registered Professional Nurse (RN) license in New York State.
  • Active, unrestricted licensure in New Jersey is a plus.
  • Active and unrestricted DEA registration for prescribing controlled substances.
  • 8+ years of experience in an outpatient medical setting, ideally in a private practice or startup environment with significant experience in psychiatric care and performing psychiatric evaluations
  • Clinical Excellence and proficiency in working with mood disorders and treatment resistant depression.
  • Experience with SPRAVATO® is preferred
  • Ability to quickly master internal digital systems including, but not limited to, EHR, telehealth, and patient‑facing applications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of health and patient care regulations
  • Willingness to participate in relevant continuing education programming
  • Dedication to fulfilling all applicable requirements for maintenance of medical licensure
  • Commercial insurance enrollment and continued active in network participation
