Position

Summary

The Pastoral Care Coordinator assists in the planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing programs which provide spiritual care for each Member in accordance with current federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulation and the Home's established policies and procedures, to assure that the spiritual needs of the Members are met and maintained on an individual basis.

Support Culture of Excellence through active role with assigned neighborhood initiatives.

Essential Job Functions
  • Conducts Sunday worship service.
  • Coordinates and conduct special worship services throughout the year.
  • Conducts prayer and study groups for Members.
  • Assesses and meets the spiritual needs of Residents at Linden Knoll.
  • Conducts memorial or funeral home services when requested by family.
  • Provides individual pastoral care with Members and families at times of crisis, and upon request.
  • Documents in-house spiritual care visits.
  • Assists Members in participating in appropriate worship services within facility or at area churches.
  • Acts as liaison between the FH and area churches and clergy to provide additional pastoral care programs as requested by Members.
  • Participates in/lead staff education opportunities as appropriate.
  • Participates in task forces and committees as assigned and/or appropriate.
  • Attends and participates in continuing education programs designed to keep abreast of changes in profession as scheduled or directed.
  • Develops and maintain a good working rapport with interdepartmental personnel to assure that the needs of Members are met.
  • Performs other duties as required by supervisor or by Administration as directed.

Qualifications of the Position
  • Education:

    Masters of Divinity Degree. Clinical pastoral education and experience preferred.
  • Experience:

    Leadership experience preferred.

    Ordained or eligible to be ordained.
Expectations of the Position
  • Dependable, report to work on-time for every schedule shift (ready to work at beginning - start of shift) and work full schedule shifts unless physically unable or pre-approved Paid Time Off (PTO) which includes personal and vacation.
  • Willing and able to work overtime and weekends as required by the position and/or approved by management.
  • Have reliable transportation to and from work.
  • Must be clean and neat in appearance and have a “friendly” service-oriented, cooperative, demeanor and supports Culture of Excellence initiatives by interactions with co-workers and/or Members.
  • Abide by work-related / job procedures and organization policies; (refer to the Employee Handbook).
