TH Clinical Laboratory Technologist II/III/IV
LocationCore Laboratory, Department of Laboratories, Stony Brook Medicine, Stony Brook University Hospital
ScheduleFull-time, Day Shift, M-F 8:00-16:30, rotating weekends and holidays, Pass Days Saturday, Sunday, every other weekend, variable.
Responsibilities- Perform high complexity coagulation and chemistry testing using manual and automated methods.
- Perform assays using ELISA methods and other specialized tests (factor assays, hemoglobinopathy evaluation, platelet aggregation).
- Assist on bone marrow biopsy procedures and process specimens.
- Implement, validate, and troubleshoot new procedures and instruments.
- Maintain quality control policies and instrument maintenance.
- Engage in continuing education and attend conferences.
- Adjust work hours to accommodate emergencies.
- Act as line responsibility for clinical analysis in the Department of Laboratories.
- Bachelor’s of Science degree in Medical Technology, Biological or Life Sciences.
- NYS License as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist or documented eligibility.
- Desired: 3+ years full-time experience in CAP accredited laboratory hematology/coagulation; 1+ year specialized testing experience.
- Three or more years full-time experience in a CAP accredited laboratory performing Hematology and Coagulation testing.
- At least one year performing specialized testing such as factor assays, hemoglobinopathy evaluation, platelet aggregation, ELISA assays, or other relevant testing.
- Successful completion of pre-employment physical examination and medical clearance.
- Completion of electronic reference check with minimum three professional references.
- Successful completion of 4-panel drug screen.
- Meet Regulatory Requirements for pre-employment screenings.
- Provide copy of NY State license(s)/certificate(s).
