Job Summary: Under the direction of radiologist, performs MRI Procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail. Performs a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgement, with ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for imaging diagnosis. Assumes responsibility for designated areas or procedures as required.

• Patient and Room Preparation: entering patient data into Epic and other appropriate computer systems as necessary.
• Placing the patient on the scan table in the correct position for the scan to be performed.
• Obtain appropriate scout image for procedure.
• Obtain cross sectional images: proper setting of protocols and sequences to obtain high quality images for diagnosis by the radiologist.
• Direct involvement during procedure: assistance at the side of the radiologist during biopsy procedures as needed; constant attention to the progression of the procedure while in the control room; involved with operating injector when necessary.
• Photographing and processing of images: photographing and labeling scan images, processing and displaying final images on viewing machines for radiologist interpretation.
• Maintain all necessary records of image slices, injections, etc.
• Observe all rules and regulations regarding radiation safety for patients and staff.
• Train other associates and students in MRI procedures.
• Maintain orderliness and cleanliness of assigned area.
• Perform duties of a 4T technologist as needed.
• Perform other related assigned tasks.

• NYS Registered Radiologic Technologist with Injection
• ARRT certification in MR
