Position Summary
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Departmental Secretary - Interventional Cardiology.
Job Responsibilities- Perform a variety of duties in support of office operations, including secretarial duties that are complex in nature and require considerable judgment.
- Compile accurate patient insurance information and provide accurate and complete insurance information to billing service.
- Maintain inventory of office supplies at front desk.
- Maintain information for department in accordance with departmental, Medical Center, HIPAA, Federal, State and City Agency regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Takes and transcribes moderately complex dictation using short/longhand, transcription equipment and/or departmental systems; prepares and edits general correspondence.
- Assists in training of new staff for the department. Orients new employees on departmental and pertinent Medical Center policies and procedures. Trains new personnel in efficient operation of departmental systems. Suggests new or modifications to existing office systems.
- Collects and organizes all appropriate insurance and financial documentation for patients prior to cardiac cath/EP procedures. Meets specifications given by supervisor, is attentive to details and adheres to pertinent Medical Center policies when scheduling.
- Serves as receptionist by answering phones, scheduling patients and preparing daily schedules. Greets staff and visitors for section, obtains information and directs to appropriate area/individual.
- Coordinates repair/service of office equipment, keeps file of service records. Assures accuracy and completeness of printed reports to be sent out. Keeps up-to-date list of referring physicians and mailing labels. Distributes/mails reports to appropriate clinical staff/patients.
- Graduate of a business/secretarial school or equivalent combination of academic and experience background.
- Minimum of four years of responsible secretarial experience required.
- Typing (60 WPM) and proficiency in Microsoft Application Skills required.

The salary range for the role is $58,008.19 - $58,008.19 annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
