The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Columbia University Irving Medical Center Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology seeks Clinical Coordinator III-Psychiatric NP to play a key role in our integrated, insurance-based, mental health program via the provision of psychiatric evaluation and medication management along with evidenced-based psychotherapies and care coordination for patients in the department. Our ideal candidate will have a keen interest in women’s mental health across the life course and/or experience with a perinatal population;

have significant experience as a psychiatric provider; be a team player yet also confident in their ability to make independent clinical judgments.

• Conduct thorough psychiatric assessments, including diagnostic evaluations and risk assessments. Develop and implement individualized, evidence-based treatment plans tailored to each patient’s needs. Prescribe and manage medications, monitor therapeutic response and side effects, provide education regarding medication use, and adjust treatment plans as clinically indicated.
• Deliver evidence-based psychotherapies to patients across the life course experiencing a wide range of mental health issues such as mood disorders, anxiety disorders, trauma-related conditions, perinatal mental health concerns, and other psychiatric conditions.
• Maintain timely, accurate, and compliant documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR), including assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, medication changes, and risk evaluations.
• Engage regularly in peer supervision to review complex cases, discuss therapeutic interventions, and enhance clinical skills. Contribute to a collaborative learning environment that supports professional growth, clinical excellence, and adherence to ethical standards.
• Offer structured clinical supervision to nursing and social work trainees. Support development of diagnostic skills, psychopharmacologic knowledge and psychotherapy competencies. Provide constructive feedback, evaluate performance, and ensure adherence to clinical and ethical standards.
• Partner with leadership to develop, refine, and expand clinical services. Participate in strategic planning, quality improvement initiatives, program development, and implementation of evidence-based practices. Contribute to workflow optimization, patient access improvements, and interdisciplinary integration to enhance overall program effectiveness.
• Work closely with administrative staff, nursing and social work trainees, research personnel, and other clinicians to coordinate care and ensure efficient clinic operations. Participate in team meetings and care coordination efforts to promote patient-centered treatment.
• Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA standards to protect patient confidentiality and privacy. Follow institutional policies regarding documentation, billing, safety protocols, and risk management. Participate in required compliance trainings and ensure all clinical activities meet regulatory, ethical, and safety standards.

• Master's degree or equivalent in education and experience, plus three years of related experience.
• Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).
• Current NYS RN and NP Licenses and ANCC Board Certification.
• BLS Certification & DEA License.

• 2-4 years of experience as a psychiatric provider inclusive of direct patient care to patients receiving treatment for psychiatric disorders.
• Experience in telemedicine.
• Bilingual English/Spanish.
