Job DescriptionJOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Brand Medical Strategies and Functional Plan – responsible for all medical‑strategy relevant activity conduct and documentation preparation regarding allocated brand/indications/therapeutic area, including but not limited to medical imperative definition, medical gap identification, medical functional plan preparation and presentation to Area/Global and National Advisory Board organizations. Responsible as a representative of allocated brand/indications/therapeutic area for regular connection within INTERCONTINENTAL Organization, as well as within Affiliate and participating in relevant cross‑functional collaborative tasks (Clinical Development, Regulatory Affairs, CEX, Business Units, Market Access, et al).
Be a strategic collaborator in and contributor to the affiliate Brand Teams, and ensure medical alignment where possible. Act as lead or key contributor on urgent or important task forces such as crisis management, risk management, label changes and updates, patient complaint handling, market access initiatives, etc. Evidence Generation and Medical Study Lead – develop local clinical study/Evidence Generation plans, identify and prioritize evidence gaps, conduct local research activities (Post‑Marketing Observational/Interventional Study, Post‑Approval Commitment Study, Collaborative Study, Investigator Initiated Study) in a scientific, efficient and compliant manner, with due regard to policies, procedures, national regulations and affiliate/area/global priorities.
Serve as local medical study lead for assigned studies, including concept formulation, protocol design/approval, biostatistical plan/report generation, implementation (collaborative with CSM or Evidence Solution) and publication. Medical Content and Scientific Communication – establish medical and scientific knowledge base, generate medical materials for field education and internal/external communication – accurate, balanced, timely and compliant. Medical Governance and Compliance Review – act as TA representative to review and approve promotional/non‑promotional materials, regulatory materials and public affairs materials.
Establish medical and scientific knowledge management and training for Abb Vie products and products in development, ensuring high‑quality medical knowledge. E.E. engagements and external collaboration and impact – provide medical support and help develop and maintain professional and credible relationships with external experts and academic organizations. Identify qualified external candidates for collaborative efforts – ensuring scientific integrity.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Medical Degree; strong background in clinical practice. Suitably qualified individuals from a scientific background and relevant experience will also be considered in exceptional circumstances. Previous medical‑affairs pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical industry experience is preferred. REQUIRED CORE COMPETENCIES / ATTRIBUTES:
Reputably lead with high integrity, strong work ethics and compliant behavior; understanding of planning, managing, and executing budgets effectively. Collaborative, team‑oriented approach, with key external stakeholders. Experience as an active contributor to cross‑functional teams and working in matrix organizations essential. Strong communication and presentation skills. Works broadly across functions to facilitate and support affiliate medical and clinical activities.
