The Diagnostic Medical Sonographer shall be responsible for performing ultrasound imaging and related procedures, as prescribed by physicians under the direction of a radiologist and/or cardiologist, with minimal supervision.

PositionDiagnostic Medical Sonographer I - Radiology - Per Diem
This is a per diem position for Weekends Flex Shift at New York-Presbyterian Hudson Valley Hospital located in Cortlandt Manor, Upper Westchester County, N.Y. (1980 Crompond Rd, Cortlandt Manor, NY 10567)
ResponsibilitiesPerform ultrasound imaging and related procedures as prescribed by physicians under the direction of a radiologist and/or cardiologist, with minimal supervision.
QualificationsPreferred Criteria
- 1-3 years of Ultrasound Tech experience.
- Demonstrate IV competency or receive training as required.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support.
Required Criteria
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Graduate of a one-year approved ultrasound program.
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (Sonography) or Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS) certification, or Registered Cardiac Sonographer, Cardiovascular Credentialing International. Employees have eighteen (18) months from the date of hire to become certified.
- Interpersonal skills are necessary to communicate effectively with patients, patient family members, physicians, and other health care providers.
- Analytical skills are necessary to evaluate and perform diagnostic ultrasound exams.
- Organizational skills are necessary to plan and implement several procedures simultaneously and to coordinate work within the unit and department.
