Client Services Representative​/Pathology

Acupath Laboratories, Inc. operates a CLIA-approved, NYS-licensed, and CAP-accredited Diagnostics Division that includes Molecular, Genetic, and FISH testing. Acupath is a 24 hour/7 day a week facility. We are looking for a dedicated Client Services Representative. You’ll play a crucial role in healthcare documentation by accurately transcribing pathology reports dictated by pathologists.

In this role you will be responsible for:

• Transcription:
  You’ll work side by side with a Pathologist and write reports related to patient diagnosis, test results, and other pathology findings.
• Review and proofread transcribed reports for accuracy, grammar, punctuation, and adherence to medical terminology and formatting guidelines.
• HIPAA Compliance:
  Maintain strict patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA regulations when handling patient information.
• Work with Pathologists to clarify unclear reports and report discrepancies.
• Participate in Quality Assurance reviews to improve transcription accuracy and efficiency.
• May be called on to perform general client duties such as filing, managing patient records, and assisting with report distribution.
• Answer calls from Doctor Offices that may call for clarification of reports.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in medical transcription, especially in a Pathology setting, is preferred.
• Medical Knowledge:
  Strong understanding of medical terminology and pathology is preferred.
• Exceptional listening skills.
• Typing:
  Minimum of 40 WPM.
• Comfortable working independently and with other team members.
