At the heart of the New York-Presbyterian nursing team is an invaluable care provider, the ICU Technician. Committed to care, our ICU Technicians bring comfort, calm and compassion to the bedside and work to put patients and families y demonstrate excellence in moments like drawing blood and taking an EKG, serving as the eyes and ears of an award-winning nursing department.
They collaborate with nurses and nursing attendants to raise the bar and Put Patients First.
Take initiative and balance the perfect blend of patient care and clinical practices. Provide quality phlebotomy, EKG, vital signs monitoring and blood glucose testing. This is a full time evening shift position at New York-Presbyterian / Columbia University Medical Center.
ResponsibilitiesDemonstrate excellence in phlebotomy and EKG; monitor vital signs and blood glucose; collaborate with nurses and nursing attendants to deliver high-quality patient care; bring comfort, calm and compassion to patients and families; be the eyes and ears of the nursing department; support patient care and clinical practices.
Qualifications- Minimum of one year current Nursing Attendant experience in an acute care hospital setting
- Successful completion of a skills inventory of a Nursing Attendant
- Recent training and/or experience as a Nurse Technician, Patient Care Technician or Medical Assistant
