Register patients for a variety of procedures and appointments and feel the pride of going above and beyond to help others. In this role, you'll obtain demographic details, insurance information, and ensure proper scheduling. You'll record patient history while obtaining pre-certification and authorization for patients obtaining services. You will be the calm and reassuring presence patients need as they navigate their hospital experience.

This is a full‑time day position requiring 40 hours per week, with a varied schedule from Monday to Friday between 7:30 AM and 7:00 PM. Some Saturdays (one or two per month) may also be required, and overtime as needed. The primary office location is at 700 White Plains Road, Scarsdale, NY 10583. The individual must demonstrate flexibility, as they will be expected to provide coverage not only for the current team at this location but also at other Westchester Medical Group locations when needed.

Preferred

Criteria
  • Prior experience in Gastroenterology, Internal Medicine, and Pediatrics.
  • Knowledge of medical procedures, routines, regulations and medical terminology.
  • Experience working in a busy healthcare environment.
  • Knowledge of Coding: ICD 9, CPT-4, health insurance benefits/requirements.
  • Some college.
Required Criteria
  • 1+ year of clerical experience.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent GED
  • Effective communication skills verbal and written.
  • Superior Customer Service skills.
  • Energetic, approachable individual with a desire to put patients first.
  • Must be detailed oriented, able to problem solve and work independently.
  • Ability to multi‑task and perform various registration duties efficiently.

Please note that all roles require on‑site presence (variable by role). Therefore, all employees should live within a commutable distance to NYP.
