Improvement Specialist – Part Time (3 days a week, M‑F)

Transform your career as a Documentation Improvement Specialist, working closely with renown clinical leaders. Facilitate the improvement of medical/surgical or pediatric charts by educating physicians, residents and other clinicians. Join a department that is highly respected as critical to hospital financial performance. Step into an all‑embracing culture of collaboration with flexible scheduling, strong nurse‑physician partnership, and opportunities for professional advancement. Clinical Documentation experience is strongly preferred.

Key

Criteria
  • Previous experience as a Documentation Improvement Specialist in a hospital setting.
  • Experience with 3M Encoder Systems.
  • Experience training clinical staff and peers.
  • Holder of a bachelor’s degree.
  • Registered Nurse, Nurse Practitioner, Occupational Therapist, Physical Therapist, Physician Assistant or trained Physician background or training required.
  • Experience working in an Electronic Medical Record environment.
  • Five years of recent hospital experience and/or verifiable Documentation Improvement experience.

All roles require on‑site presence (variable by role). Therefore, all employees should live within a commutable distance to NYP. NYP will not reimburse for travel expenses.

$101,000–$151,000/Annual
