Position Summary
Under the direction of the Sterilization Manager, the incumbent is responsible for maintaining the sterilization area and all instrumentation that requires reprocessing. Lead Technician B, Sterilization, serves as a senior member of the sterilization team, providing guidance and coordination of daily workflow under the direction of the Supervisor/Manager.
While Lead Technician B, Sterilization, may assist in delegating tasks and facilitating communication among staff during the Supervisor's absence, this position does not include supervisory authority. A Supervisor or designated officer will always be on call to provide managerial oversight and support as needed.
Responsibilities
- Inspect, package and sterilize dental instruments and materials and operate the sterilization equipment according to protocol.
- Will collect soiled instrumentation and deliver clean instrumentation according to schedule.
- Prioritize the assembly of trays / cassettes and instruments to meet the needs of various specialties.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant sterilization area according to the policy.
- Incumbent must adhere strictly to safety, sterilization, handling and technical regulations.
- Performs additional related duties as assigned to support the department's operations.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education, plus three (3) years of related experience required.
- Completion of sterile processing training program with a certification as a Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) from HSPA / IAHCSMM
Other Requirements
- As part of the selection process, candidates' work performance histories will be reviewed to ensure alignment with the standards and expectations of the role.
- Lead Technician B, Sterilization is expected to maintain flexibility to cover shifts and support departmental operations as needed.
