Reporting to the Day Services Team Leader, the Day Services Supervisor is responsible for developing and implementing programming that is challenging, inspiring, and in-line with the valued outcomes of the individuals who receive services. Programming should be person-centered, foster community integration, and focus on skill acquisition and, or retention while remaining compliant to agency, state, and federal requirements. This is a management position that provides supervision to the Direct Support Professionals in the program.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe duties and responsibilities of the Day Services Supervisor include, but are not limited to the following:
- Works with the Day Services Team Leader to develop, coordinate and implement program goals.
- The Day Services Supervisor will provide supervision utilizing the Direct Support Professional Core Competencies, JC Code of Ethics & Empowerment Strategies. Provide performance feedback to direct reports.
- Ensures that program records are up-to-date and current for each person enrolled in the service. Works with Care Coordinators to obtain and share documents to ensure complete and contemporaneous files.
- Prepares for and attends Life Plan and other team meetings, and utilizes the information gathered to develop Staff Action Plans and document meeting minutes.
- Provide role modeling, coaching and training to staff on the implementation of Habilitation Staff Action Plan and service documentation. Maintain records of in-service training and communicate any training needs to the Leadership Team.
- Works with the DSP SR, Direct Support Professionals (DSP’s) and individuals supported to develop and implement the daily schedule of activities.
- Provide support on the implementation of the Behavior Support Plan in coordination with the Behavior Clinician.
- Monitors the electronic health record (i.e., eVero) to ensure complete, accurate and timely complementation of service delivery as required.
- Monitors service delivery as required to ensure quality and adherence to NADSP Core Competencies, Code of Ethics, Staff Action Plan and Safeguards. Take correction actions as necessary and immediately notify Supervisor of concerns.
- Coordinate with Day Services Team Leader to ensure adequate staff coverage levels at all times.
Provides coverage and performs direct support duties as needed. - Works with the Day Services Team Leader to interview candidates.
- Creates and maintains a healthy and productive work environment by modeling positive behaviors that teach patience, professionalism, and teamwork.
- Works with Day Services Team Leader to plan and co-facilitate staff meetings.
- Follow and adhere to all agency and program policy and procedures, including HIPAA, Confidentiality, Accident / Incident Reporting, Corporate Culture Playbook and implementing the Corporate Compliance Plan and related policies and procedures, and reporting facility and/or program needs to the Supervisor.
- Completes special projects as requested by working independently and, or with other colleagues and staff.
- Actively participates in supervision for professional growth and development.
- Reports to work promptly and adhere to the assigned schedule.
- Complete all required initial and annual training as well as ongoing training to increase knowledge.
- Builds and maintains professional relationships with staff and colleagues.
- Attends department and agency meetings as requested.
