Position Overview
This full-time position reports to the Chief of Operations. The Program Analyst will coordinate and supervise quality initiatives with broad latitude to participate in Quality Improvement and Quality Assurance work across the Operations Department. This role involves developing a deep understanding of workflows and operations across all Operations subunits and working across disciplines to coordinate quality initiatives, analyze data, and support presentations.
EssentialJob Functions
- Oversee data management and presentation for Operations Quality Improvement Committee meetings in collaboration with CHS teams across all disciplines. Maintain and distribute monthly Quality Improvement reports.
- Coordinate inter-departmental and facility-based quality improvement meetings to deliver direct feedback to the Operations team.
- Collaborate with Quality Improvement Committees and Operations leadership to fulfill departmental Quality Improvement Committee (QIC) and New York City Health + Hospitals (NYC Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) obligations.
- Monitor and facilitate the completion of Operations Performance Improvement Projects that achieve defined quality objectives.
- Collaborate with Operations leadership to disseminate findings within CHS and to external stakeholders as appropriate.
- Develop skills in operational improvements and apply them to continuous quality improvement cycles. Learn operational workflows of care delivery across all jails in order to identify areas for focused improvement initiatives.
- Serve as a liaison among Operations leadership, Information Technology (IT), informatics, and other departments regarding new reports and initiatives.
- Participate in the implementation of new quality improvement projects and the revision of existing initiatives.
- Contribute to additional data projects and tasks as assigned by CHS.
- Provide cross-coverage for the administrative support needs of Operations leadership.
- A Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Public Administration, Public Health, Business Administration, or a related discipline, and one (1) year of full-time experience in an administrative capacity in business management systems, general administration, health care or medical/patient systems administration.
- A Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited college or university in Public Administration, Public Health, Business Administration, or a related discipline, and two (2) years of full-time experience in an administrative capacity in business management systems, general administration, health care or medical/patient systems administration.
- Master's Degree in Public Health, Master's Degree in Public Administration, or related degree with a concentration on quantitative and/or qualitative analysis.
- Experience working within correctional settings on research and data-driven projects.
- Strong data/statistical analysis and database management skills.
- Advanced knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with standard statistical software packages (SPSS, SAS, etc.).
- Interest in correctional healthcare.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with other disciplines, including DOC staff.
- Strong organizational, project management, and multitasking abilities.
