Position Summary
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Physical Therapist, per diem – Vestibular.
In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating physical therapy needs and implementing comprehensive, medically prescribed physical therapy treatment to assigned patients in a supervised program of rehabilitation.
Job Responsibilities- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Initial assessment and evaluation of physical therapy needs for specifically assigned patient populations; reviews medical charts to ascertain important medical information and clarifies referral or treatment orders if necessary for unfamiliar diagnoses. Selects appropriate assessment tools and methods to accurately determine patient status for developing an optimal treatment plan.
- Implements treatment plans and protocols according to current professional and health system standards; establishes achievable and appropriate treatment goals with patient and family; considers a variety of validated treatment approaches and rationales for achievement of patient goals; selects appropriate assistive devices and correctly refers patients to other clinical services.
- Completes all required documentation for patient care and reimbursement, including daily treatment records and documentation in the medical chart as required by department guidelines and JACHO/CARF requirements.
- Participates in clinical education of fieldwork students and other professional educational endeavors; teaches and supervises assigned students in appropriate techniques, skills, and procedures; encourages positive learning experiences for fieldwork and non‑fieldwork students.
- Provides expected patient contact and participates in productivity reports and patient contact analysis as indicated by unit procedures.
- Demonstrates continued proficiency in skills required to treat the assigned patient population.
To qualify, you must have a Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy, a New York State Physical Therapy license or temporary permit, good communication and interpersonal skills, and BLS or CPR/AED certification issued by the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross.
Required LicensesPhysician Therapist Temporary Permit – NYS, Physician Therapist License – NYS
Preferred QualificationsMaster's Degree in Physical Therapy or related field; minimum of two years of experience working with patients with vestibular dysfunction.
Communication RequirementQualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

SalaryThe salary range for this role is $65.00 to $65.00 per hour. Actual salaries depend on factors such as experience, specialty, education, and hospital need.
