Position: Freelance Project Coordinator (Life Sciences)
Location: New York

Overview

Freelance Project Coordinator (Life Sciences) – remote (local to Raleigh, NC; occasional onsite meetings required). This is a 1099 project-based role with fluctuating hours. The long-term goal is to grow the position into a full-time opportunity as business expands.

Pay: $35–$45 per hour (based on experience).

Key Responsibilities
  • Primary focus: Support the planning, execution, and tracking of Life Sciences projects, ensuring deliverables are completed on time, on budget, and within scope.
  • Coordinate project activities including scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, and documenting action items.
  • Maintain and update project documentation, status reports, and tracking tools.
  • Liaise between internal teams, external vendors, and stakeholders to ensure clear communication and issue resolution.
  • Proactively monitor project progress and escalate risks or concerns as needed.
  • Assist with budgets, invoices, and resource allocation for project activities.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory guidelines (e.g., GxP, FDA, EMA) and internal processes.
  • Contribute to process improvements by identifying and implementing efficiencies in project workflows.
Required

Skills & Qualifications
  • 3–5 years of project coordination or project management experience in Life Sciences (pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device, or healthcare-related).
  • Proven ability to manage multiple deliverables with strong attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with regulatory environments, clinical development processes, or laboratory operations
    .
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools (Smartsheet strongly preferred; MS Project, Asana, or similar tools also valuable).
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
  • PMP, CAPM, or similar certification preferred but not required.
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Project Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
