Columbia University is recruiting an M.D. or Ph.D. for a T32 Fellowship in the Division of Brain Aging, Department of Psychiatry, at its Irving Medical Center, New York. This postdoctoral position is primarily focused on cognitive systems in aging and early stage Alzheimer’s disease and will work on: developing early behavioral and neuroimaging markers of Alzheimer’s disease; clinical trials to enhance cognition;
integrating structural and functional MRI, PET, cognitive, genetic, and biofluid measures from ongoing or completed projects; and modifiable risk factors for Alzheimer’s disease, including sleep. Fellows will have ample opportunities to explore and gain experience with multidisciplinary and clinical research in aging and Alzheimer’s disease and to interact with core faculty members in the division.
The candidate should have strong and demonstrable interests in aging, neurodegenerative disease, genetics of Alzheimer’s disease (including APOE), and psychiatric disorders in older individuals. He or she should have a robust background in cognitive neuroscience, biomarkers, neuroimaging, and statistics. A cover letter should address the degree to which the candidate fits the criteria noted above, along with a summary of his or her relevant skills, background, future career goals, grant writing, productivity, and prior experiences.
The candidate must be a U.S. citizen or hold a Green Card. The position is up to three years in length. Pay is commensurate with experience and degree. The candidate will be expected to apply for a K Award.
