Health Care Administrative Support
Patient Service Representative – Bilingual English and Spanish, Bronx, NY.
Urban Health Plan is hiring Patient Services Representatives (PSR) for 2026 across its health center locations. The role focuses on creating a welcoming patient experience and providing administrative and customer‑service support in a fast‑paced healthcare setting.
Responsibilities- Greet and assist patients in a professional and friendly manner.
- Schedule appointments and reschedule no‑shows.
- Verify insurance information through managed care websites.
- Register patients, assign PCPs (when applicable), maintain accurate demographic data, and update records as needed.
- Answer incoming phone calls, respond to patient inquiries, and take messages for providers.
- Collect co‑pays and process payments as required.
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
- Help maintain charts and provide administrative support to the department.
- Collaborate with providers and clinical staff to ensure excellent patient care.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 1 year of clerical/administrative experience in a medical office or healthcare setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Proficiency with computers and electronic medical records is a plus.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish required.
$19.50 per hour based on 40 hours per week ($40,560 annualized).
Schedule RequirementsThis is an on‑site position at one of our health center locations. Candidates must have flexibility to work 5 days a week, which may include:
- Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM and 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM.
- Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM and 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM with rotating Saturdays (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM). When scheduled to work a Saturday, employees receive a day off during the week.
Schedules vary based on business and operational needs. Rotating Saturday schedules are provided in advance to support planning.
