Excellent Audiology Externship Experience in NYC – Paid

Overview

Universal Hearing Center in Queens, NY is seeking an audiology extern for the  year. As a busy private practice with two facilities, externs will gain experience with diagnostic testing on pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients, hearing aid evaluations and fittings across multiple manufacturers, and collaboration with ENT surgeons and physicians for comprehensive patient care.

• Diagnostic testing – comprehensive audiological assessments, tympanometry, DPOAEs, and hearing aid knowledge
• Hearing screenings
• Pediatric evaluations (infant/toddler and school‑age)
• Adult hearing evaluations
• Tympanometry and otoacoustic emissions whenever required
• Hearing aid selection, fitting, dispensing, and audio logic rehabilitation (group or individualized)
• Tinnitus assessments and rehabilitation
• Cerumen management
• Acoustic reflex testing, auditory processing evaluations, and industrial/hearing conservation work
• Collaborative patient education and counseling with ENT surgeons and physicians

• Mastered comprehensive audiological assessments, tympanometry, DPOAEs, and general hearing aid knowledge before starting the externship
• Demonstrate familiarity with particular hearing aid manufacturers during the externship
• Ability to work independently yet under the supervision of a licensed audiologist

  Two private practice facilities in Queens, NY
• Salary‑based compensation
• Annual hours: 40 hours per week
• Travel to a satellite center less than 3 miles required
• Continuing education opportunities (CEU available)
• Supervised externship (all externs supervised)
• Orientation to clinical policies, patient rights, patient education, quality assessment, assurance, and improvement
• No interview travel compensation
