Assistant or Associate Professor – Department of Physical Therapy (DPT)

The Department of Physical Therapy at Hunter College, The City University of New York (CUNY) invites applications for a tenure‑track faculty position (Assistant or Associate) to begin in August 2026. Expertise and specialization in adult neurological physical therapy are preferred.

Faculty members will be responsible for teaching doctoral coursework, mentoring students, conducting scholarly activities, and contributing to departmental service. The appointment is a 9‑month tenure‑track position eligible for tenure after seven years of successful re‑appointments.

• Develop and teach courses in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program.
• Provide mentorship and advising to doctoral students.
• Engage in research, scholarship, and publication activities.
• Participate in departmental service and community outreach.

• Ph.D. degree in an area related to physical therapy or equivalent.
• Expertise in adult neurological physical therapy.
• At least 5 years of clinical experience in adult neurological physical therapy.
• Teaching experience in Physical Therapy.
• Active PT license in the US and eligibility for licensure in New York State.

• Board‑Certified Neurologic Clinical Specialist.
• PhD, EdD, DSc, or equivalent advanced degree.
• A record of scholarly activity and an established research agenda.
• Active participation in the American Physical Therapy Association and other professional leadership experiences.

Salary commensurate with experience. Assistant Professor up to $109,025 and Associate Professor up to $129,041 as per the PSC contract.
