Location: New York

Radiologic Technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic radiographic procedures and providing imaging support for physicians and surgical staff within Bridge Street ASC. This role ensures the safe operation of radiologic equipment, adherence to radiation safety standards, and delivery of high-quality patient care throughout the perioperative process.

The Radiologic Technologist works collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to obtain accurate diagnostic images and provide intraoperative imaging support while maintaining compliance with all regulatory, safety, and accreditation requirements.

Patient Care & Imaging Services
  • Perform diagnostic radiographic examinations and fluoroscopic procedures as ordered by physicians.
  • Produce high-quality diagnostic images while ensuring patient safety and comfort.
  • Properly position patients and utilize appropriate protective shielding during imaging procedures.
  • Educate patients regarding imaging procedures and answer questions to reduce anxiety and improve cooperation.
  • Assess patient condition and respond appropriately to clinical situations during procedures.
  • Remain available throughout procedures to support physician and patient needs.
Surgical & Procedural Support
  • Provide imaging support during surgical and interventional procedures.
  • Prepare and assemble necessary imaging equipment, positioning aids, and supplies according to physician preference cards.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and surgical staff to ensure efficient workflow and patient throughput.
  • Apply aseptic technique and maintain sterile field awareness during procedures.
  • Accurately interpret and follow verbal orders and procedural directions.
Radiation Safety & Compliance
  • Adhere to all federal, state, OSHA, and radiation safety regulations.
  • Ensure all individuals in the procedure room are properly protected prior to activating imaging equipment.
  • Monitor radiation exposure and utilize ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) principles.
  • Follow manufacturer specifications and established safety protocols for all imaging equipment.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with all HIPAA regulations.
Documentation & Record Management
  • Accurately document imaging procedures and patient information within the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
  • Maintain complete and accurate radiology records and reports.
  • Communicate relevant patient information to physicians, nursing staff, and other members of the care team.
  • Ensure all required documentation complies with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
Equipment Management
  • Perform routine equipment inspections and operational checks.
  • Monitor equipment performance and report malfunctions promptly.
  • Participate in equipment maintenance, cleaning, calibration, and storage procedures.
  • Ensure imaging equipment and supplies are readily available and maintained in proper working condition.
  • Assist with inventory management and maintenance of radiology supplies.
Quality Assurance & Professional Development
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and department performance activities.
  • Maintain current knowledge of radiologic technology practices, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Participate in continuing education and professional development activities.
  • Maintain required certifications and licensure.
General Responsibilities
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Report safety concerns, incidents, and adverse events according to facility policy.
  • Respond promptly to patient and physician needs.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support facility operations.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
  • Current New York State Radiologic Technologist License.
  • Current ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) Certification.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of radiologic technology experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Strong knowledge of radiographic procedures, radiation safety principles, and imaging equipment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred
  • Previous Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC), orthopedic, pain management, or surgical imaging experience.
  • Experience with C-Arm fluoroscopy.
  • Knowledge of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.
  • Current BLS Certification.
  • Experience supporting spine, pain management, orthopedic, vascular, or interventional procedures.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

  • Adequate visual acuity, depth perception, and manual dexterity necessary for imaging procedures.
