Job DescriptionPosition: MRI Technologist
Location:
Port Jefferson Station, NY
Hours/Days: 4/10 hour days, Mon‑Thu 7a‑6p (RDO Friday)
Organization:
New York Imaging (NYI)
- Maintain and adjust imaging equipment.
- Calibrate MRI (MRA) consoles and peripheral hardware.
- Operate injectors with proficiency.
- Ensure patient safety using aseptic injection techniques and appropriate pre‑screening.
- Address patient concerns throughout the procedure.
- Flush IV lines post‑contrast injection.
- Accurately follow physician orders for imaging areas.
- Prepare patients for procedures, including medical history review and answering procedural questions.
- Shield exposed areas of the body to protect the patient during imaging.
- Attach physiological monitoring leads as necessary.
- Provide headphones for patient comfort.
- Properly position patients for imaging.
- Maintain accurate patient medical records.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Associate Degree.
- Current state license.
- CPR certification.
- Minimum of one year of continuous MRI experience.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (preferred).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to patient care and safety.
- Competitive salary up to $63/hr based on experience and certifications.
