Dietary Supervisor (Evenings) - Nyack Ridge Rehabilitation & Nursing Center

As a Dietary Supervisor (Evenings), you will play an essential role in leading our evening dietary team in delivering nutritious, high-quality meals while maintaining exceptional standards of food safety, sanitation, and resident satisfaction.
Position: Full-Time
Shift: 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Pay: $25.00–$30.00 per hour, based on experience
As a hands-on leader, you will oversee dietary staff during assigned shifts, prepare meals in accordance with physician-prescribed diets, ensure compliance with all federal and New York State Department of Health regulations, and support the efficient daily operation of the kitchen.
Responsibilities:- Supervise, coach, and support dietary cooks, dietary aides, and kitchen staff during assigned shifts
- Prepare and cook meals according to standardized recipes, therapeutic diets, texture-modified diets, and resident preferences
- Ensure meals are prepared, portioned, and served accurately and on schedule while maintaining excellent quality and presentation
- Monitor food temperatures, storage, sanitation, labeling, and safe food handling practices in accordance with all regulatory requirements
- Ensure compliance with New York State Department of Health regulations, OSHA standards, and facility policies and procedures
- Assist with scheduling staff, assigning daily duties, and training new employees
- Maintain inventory of food, supplies, and kitchen equipment; communicate ordering needs to management
- Inspect kitchen equipment daily and promptly report repair or maintenance needs
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen, food preparation, storage, and dining service areas
- Collaborate with the Registered Dietitian, Dietary Manager, Nursing Department, and Administration to meet residents' nutritional needs
- Ensure accuracy of physician-ordered therapeutic diets, food allergies, and meal substitutions
- Participate in quality assurance, infection prevention, and regulatory compliance activities
- Assist with meal service during peak hours and provide hands-on leadership as needed
- Foster teamwork, professionalism, and exceptional customer service for residents, families, and staff
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of two (2) years of cooking experience in a nursing home, rehabilitation center, hospital, or other institutional food service setting preferred
- Previous supervisory, lead cook, or dietary leadership experience preferred
- Knowledge of therapeutic diets, modified textures, food allergies, and nutritional requirements for the elderly population
- Strong knowledge of food safety, sanitation, infection prevention, and HACCP principles
- Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills
- Serv Safe Food Protection Manager Certification preferred or willingness to obtain certification
- Must be dependable, professional, and committed to providing exceptional resident care through quality food service
