Description

Putnam Nursing & Rehabilitation Center is a 160-bed Skilled Nursing Facility hiring a Full-Time Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our growing rehabilitation team. Our Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) will work closely with Occupational Therapists and the interdisciplinary care team to help residents improve activities of daily living (ADLs), strength, and independence.

Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) General Summary of

Key Responsibilities
  • Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) will assist the Occupational Therapist in implementing occupational therapy treatment programs.
  • Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) provides therapy services to improve ADLs, mobility, and functional independence.
  • Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) documents therapy sessions and resident progress accurately.
  • Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) may participate in care plan meetings and interdisciplinary team meetings.
  • Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) provides adaptive equipment and recommend environmental modifications when appropriate.
  • Educate residents and caregivers on therapy techniques and treatment plans.
  • Maintain therapy supplies, equipment, and treatment areas.
  • Follow all facility policies and rehabilitation documentation standards.

Requirements

  • Current COTA license in good standing with the NYS Board of Education.
  • Certification through AOTCB required.
  • Experience in skilled nursing facility or rehabilitation setting preferred.
  • Knowledge of MDS, PRI, and care planning preferred.
  • Covid-19 vaccinations are encouraged but NOT MANDATED
    ; we continue to offer COVID-19 vaccination based on eligibility guidance from CDC
