IHC Technician (Evening Shift

Histo Wiz is the largest online histopathology company, based in New York City. Our mission is to help biomedical researchers find cures by accelerating histopathology and enabling global collaboration.

Under the general direction and supervision of the Director of Laboratory Operations, the IHC Technician will effectively apply a working knowledge and skill of designated IHC Technician-related duties and tasks, in support of the Department as a whole, to complete the daily assigned histology workload.

• Must be available for a 1:30 pm - 10 pm shift Monday-Friday, with weekend availability as needed
• Perform routine antibody staining
• Perform routine preventive maintenance procedures
• Perform antibody and equipment validations
• Operate automated IHC stain and cover slipper(s)
• Troubleshoot quality issues
• Create and/or monitor essential documents through the daily operation
• Exchange instrument-specific reagents at designated intervals
• Timely completion of instrument-specific QC documentation when applicable
• Proper handling and disposal of chemical waste
• Immediate notification to supervisory personnel of malfunctioning instrumentation
• QC/QA of all antibodies
• Immediate notification of existing and/or potential problems to the proper authority
• Maintain accurate work records (e.g., Maintenance Logs, Temperature Logs, etc.)
• Evaluate new equipment and procedures
• Review slides for overall quality of preparation such as staining intensity, proper cover slipping and stain artifacts

• Bachelor's degree in scientific field preferred
• Tech-savvy, fast learner. Proprietary, digital LIMS system used
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• HTL or QIHC licenses, a plus
• Experience working at a biotech preferred
• Knowledge of IHC – Special Stains
