Part-Time and Full-Time Recreation Aides

Far Rockaway Center is seeking energetic and passionate Part-Time and Full-Time Recreation Aides for our Skilled Nursing Facility in Far Rockaway, NY. Duties include implementing activity programs for residents, working directly with residents on units without direct supervision, organizing and obtaining supplies and equipment as requested, assisting recreation specialists and setting up program areas as needed, keeping daily attendance and documenting residents' participation in activities, assisting residents to program location and returning residents to appropriate units, and being familiar with established emergency procedures.

Requirements include a positive attitude and energy, experience with activities in a healthcare setting or college work in recreation therapy, previous experience with geriatric populations preferred, strong computer skills necessary, ability to work effectively as a team member, strong organizational and planning skills, ability to multi-task, some weekends required, and dementia experience preferred.
